The plan to transform a former betting shop at Fraserburgh into a hub for computer users divided the community when it was first announced at the beginning of the year.

Objectors felt that, because the venture was being funded by Aberdeenshire Council from its social services budget it would be unfair competition to existing businesses

The local internet group said the new cafe would provide training for adults and those with disabilities and would be an extension of schemes already running at the local authority-run Robertson Road resource centre.
